HI, from what your showing it appears to be a fine Souval badge.
Joe
good badge,,they also made general assault badges, here is an example,,,
Hi Martin,
Souval produced these badges during the war and also after the war. There is a certain amount of controversy surrounding the actual timeline of production with many of his badges. However.......
All I'm going to say is that the example you've posted above compares very favourably against other badges which have been deemed to be of wartime manufacture.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
Thanks for the information
I forgot to photograph the small stampel. perhaps marked "L/59"
Martin
Souval's LDO number is L/58.......
I've never seen a double marked Coastal Artillery badge but I have seen Minesweepers with this stamp. Again, it compares favourably.

its not L/59 as L/59 is Louis Keller, Oberstein
i know rudy souval is usually associated with the L/58 marking but i have 2 others with the same L number,,,L/58 Glaser & Sohn, Dresden-A. Borngasse 5 (partial license) L/58 Artur Jakel & Co., Gablonz/Nand as listed in the LDO listings,,perhaps the last one was also only temporary as my list does not show Souval with the L/58 license number,so Souval must have been a full licensee after these two had returned theirs or had them possibly revoked,,,
I've amended the LDO list at the top of the forum. L/58 was Rudolf Souval.

It may be a 58.
It's hard to see at the very small and poor stample. Thanks for letting me know about the LDO list. Unfortunately forgers crooks also know
