Sorry but your badge doesn't have the traits i'd expect to see from a groud dug badge. Unfortunately it looks to be a bad copy the details are soft & the hardwares all wrong. Stewy S

think all you want , but i'm telling u its real .
The main thing is your happy with it & at the end of the day that's all that matters. Stewy S
True ..
But I know for 100% shure its dug up , the source is no dealer or so ..he just digs for roman artefacts like fibulas and coins so .. in my country its considered to be of extremely bad taste to collect this jerry stuff so dont look strange when u can buy it dirt cheap ..
Also not all ground is like soaked russian clay , limburg has 'loss' grounds wich preserves stuff pretty well ,even after 60 years .. so im not surpised it isnt completely black as the russian found stuff ..
i didnt want evalution of the object also , just sent u a real 'find' pic to compare .. if in your expert opinion it unfortunately looks like a cheap fake I wish u well collecting :-)
Hi Heino, welcome to the forum!
I am sorry but this badge is not original. Don't forget a fake can also be dug up simply because it was lost. But I find it hard to see that that badge came out of the ground. The pin does not have any tarnish or age to it. But thank you for showing it.
Cheers, Ade.
Hi Adrian

Hi
many thanks for your concern , unfortunately the forecast is not rosy .
As to the Hilfs its attribution (war time piece or not) remains unsettled ; I am one of the undecided collectors , I have not yet found the smoking gun
