The details are lacking on this example IMO . Eagle has no face , wreath has no detail at all and I cannot match it with any in Sascha Weber's book or this site plus the pics are hard to study being they are sideways . I could be wrong so wait for others to comment .

The featureless eagle's head and wreath could be from wear and corrosion, but with the qualities of the photos it is hard to say. I only have Maert'z "The Awards of the Heer" to go by, which only lists a few of the shields, and based on the edges of the land masses and islands, it doesn't seem to match any of those.

A well worn original imo, Condition could of been caused by die wear , zinc pest or maybe a combo of the two. Nearest I can find to it is type 1.27 in Webers book (unknown maker) here's one from the forum. Regards Paul.

Same features on the coastlines, islands, inlets and dates imo. If you have the shield in hand you should be able (hopefully) to make a positive Id, Regards, Paul

Thanks Paul , I had looked at the 1.27 ( the last one in the book ) and saw some differences but looking again I agree with your assessment , very worn . The one you show looks mint with good detail for this maker . Remarks from the book " this unknown maker is considered very rare". Congrats to the OP and thanks for showing your badge . Great forum and great people .
