Thanks Nick perhaps someone else will come along with any confirmation either way before I part with any money. I have till later tonight to make a deal or not.
I wasn’t sure about the pebbling of the sea. But there seems to be a few makers of this badge which must make it more difficult to tell good from bad.
    Thanks

Try and get hold of Glynn66 or Big Ned. They know their shields

    Woah, steady tiger!!

I'm by no means a shield man I'll tell ya, I just try to match up with known originals I keep on a homemade database.

It's not a good idea to go for this on my say so alone, it needs others to see what they think too, but it may be too late already if you needed to know tonight anyway I guess. Personally, I think it MAYBE an original Deumer shield that is rather worn, but I'd hang fire for a better one if it were me.

    Prevaricating, Ned.
'I do not think we can hope for any better thing now.
We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker of course, and the end cannot be far.
It seems a pity, but I do not think I can write more. R. SCOTT.

Nick said you were the man Ned! I was going to PM ye
Your not to late I haven’t contacted the seller yet, might wait till tomorrow.
I have just spent the last hour and a half trying to match it with other examples, emedals must have about forty. I couldn’t quite match it with anything.
Little differences like the coast and the swas having roundish edges, then maybe finding one like it but a cove or land leg being slightly a different shape. Or lack of detail on the wreath.
Or am I being to fussy, it looks old but then again so does some of the other crap i have.
Will sleep on it and see if anyone else can help
    Thanks
    Rod

Do a search here on forum. What's the price range on originals?

I’ve did a search here Lars thanks. I only ask when I am struggling .
Without their backing they seem to be around $100
With their backing they seem to be around $150 to $250, dealers prices of course!
I recon I can this this for £25 but even that’s a waste if it turns out to be scrap,
    Thanks
