Hi Scott,
The shield is an original type 3.12 (1.27 in Weber's book) by an unknown maker. Document is a known type but whether it's genuine is for others to say, I don't know. Same goes for the price for the two but I saw the same shield (below) although more worn sell for just under $140 last month.
Regards, Ned

We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker of course, and the end cannot be far.
It seems a pity, but I do not think I can write more. R. SCOTT.

Thanks Ned. Much appreciated sir.
The pricing is the hard part on this one. The seller started astronomically high, and has gradually come down to $380. I suspect they have more attachment to it in their mind than the value justifies, which will make a deal at a fair price difficult, especially if they paid more than the value currently is. Still, it's quite a nice shield, and worth a shot I imagine!
Have a great night/day!
