Thanks Nick. It was just that Ned has recently responded on another fake, and I thought he would like the joke! The fake he dammed looked a lot more professionally made than this one!
"What's all this shouting? We'll have no trouble here!!"
I hate to say it fella's.....But the shield is original.
It's actually a type 3.5 (C variant) by an unknown maker. They used three different types of attachment Flatwire prongs (type A), side tabs (type B) and roundwire prongs (type C).
Here's a link that goes into depth with excellent photo's that show it's a good one.

Hope this clears any misunderstandings up.
Never fear, Ned is here.......

With shaved prongs I am guessing $50 is a little steep!
You can buy a good complete one with backing plate and cloth for around double that so i'd hang fire if I were you. This one is never going to be worth much, ever. The type is the commonest Krim out there anyway, and this one's as rough as a bear's ar$e.....

My apologies Al, I would have run a mile if offered to me, I still would !

Running.....thanks guys.
Hello,
Ned is correct, it is original (I used to own one like it). The condition is dreadful. When it comes to collecting shields try to buy examples that have the prongs intact along with the backing material. In my opinion, this shield is too beat up and has very little collector value.
