Re: Lets see your Parade Mounts!!!
Patrick.....they are, Prussian 9 year long service medallion for NCO's and men (this version is private purchase), and the other is the Prussian 1897 Centenary medal. Before 1913, long service awards were clasps (they were medals after 1913), most reciepients regarded them as ugly and difficult to wear with other medals, and so this version was available for private purchase, as you can see it can be worn easily with other medals. see here for more information.. https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/imper...-another-7228/ The 1897 Centenary medal was instigated to commemorate 100 yrs since the birth of the first Kaiser of Germany (the father of the modern German state, 1871) and was issued to all active military personnel and veterans of the 1848.1864,1866 and 1870/71 wars. There are a lot of these medals around, and they are cheap to buy. Prost ! Steve.
