Luftwaffe Erdkampfabzeichen for review

Hi Gents!



I'm interested in purchasing this Luftwaffe ground assault badge, but wanted to get some expert opinions first. What do you guys think?

The catch of this badge is for sure not fitting to a Erdkampfabzeichen made by "Wallpach".I am not 100% sure,if this badge is a complete fake or is the catch repaired.

Hard to say with this pics,but i tend to a fake.

The catch is definitely wrong for the one-piece Arno Wallpach badges, as stated by Kradmelder above...perhaps it's just a replacement, but these badges are widely faked...
Here is mine with the correct catch...

I agree with Joe about the catch, definitely not an original one. Any chance of some better pics? I'm not at home to be able to compare right now but are the three cutouts at the top of the badge a match to Wallpach badges?

I believe it's an original Wallpach with replaced catch. It looks like there are remains of the original catch-plate on the left side of the catch that was filed down...Not a rare badge, I'd suggest waiting for a better one to spend your money on ...

Glenn & Joe, would you be concerned about the shape of the "O" above the hinge? It doesn't seem to be the same shape as your Wallpach. Or is that a variant?

Indeed,the "O" is looking not good and a few more things too.There are very good fakes of this "Wallpach" badges on the market and when i would one of this badges buy,i personaly would only buy a textbook badge without questions.
