    Hi,

I have come across an L/58 marked Ostmedaille which have raised my suspicions. I have never heard of a LDO marked Ostmedaille before, except for the L15 marked one which is presumed to be post war. The ring is nonmagnetic, bright and shiny compare to the medal itself.

    What do you think?

    Thanks
    /Jonas

I'm not sure there were any LDO Ostmedals either but that stamp looks real enough!

Could be the angle I suppose but check out the variation in width of the outer ring on the reverse.

    Hello,

    very nice!

But the band-ring should be made of iron. If up to now in all known pieces like this.

You don't see many LDO marked Souval medals. Search in the EK section for L/58 and you should see my LDO marked Souval EK2. You can compare the makers mark to that one but from memory it looks a good match.

Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

    Yes the stamp matches well.

However it could be a replacement ring as it is cut
