Hello fellas,

This is my recent purchase. Initial state of the medal was unsightly, surface was tarnished, seemed, silvering was lost. Though it allowed me to reduce the price little bit.
At home I've tryed to clean up the surface by use of simple kitchen scouring powder with 5% anionic surfactants and toothbrush. The ribbon has been washed and ironed too. Let's see the difference.

Nevertheless ought be carefull in using of such cleaners for expensive things.

I think you'll find your freshly cleaned surface will soon tarnish again as you have now removed any protecting layer of patina and the bare metal is once again exposed to oxygen.

Will see, Glenn. However I don't think so, it depend on storage conditions. Unfortunately, the ribbon is still remaining dirty.
