    Default Mutterkreuz Bronze ?

I know this is the German 1938 Mother's Cross (ribbon is missing), but I am not 100% sure if It is gold or bronze, but to me it looks like bronze, then it is 3rd Class Order, Bronze Cross. – eligible mothers with four to five children

    Obverse text:
Resting on the centre radiant starburst rays is a metal roundel decorated with the words ”DER DEUTSCHEN MUTTER” (In English: OF THE GERMAN MOTHER or The German Mother ?) around an enamelled black straight centred “swastika” symbol, infilled white enamel

    Reverse text:
The succeeding version produced from 1939-1945 the initial former reverse inscription was replaced during production with the date of the decoration decree ”16. Dezember 1938”. Directly beneath each of the two styles is the inscribed facsimile signature of Chancellor (Reichskanzler) Adolf Hitler

Neither, actually: It can be translated as "To the German Mother" or "For the German Mother".

Definitely the bronze grade, as Adrian & Adrian already said.
