It looks absolutely fine Johnny.
The stripes on the reverse are from the ribbon which was wrapped around it in storage. I would suggest this is likely from the Deschler hoard.
Here are my hoard crosses where you can see a similar effect on the reverses of mine.

Wow, Adrian. I didn't know about the MK hoard. My bronze one didn't have the ribbon mark. Thanks for the info.
Dean
Adrian you are really fast.
I was a little worried because of stripes.i'm glad that everything is OK.thank you for your help.
Interesting information about the hoard stripes - thanks Adrian.
Nice original example Johnny, well done.
One of the most decorative Third Reich awards in my opinion, and of the various classes, I prefer the bronze to the silver or gold - for me it has the best overall look.

Btw, Johnny , I believe it to be a fine original. I wish I kept mine. I sold it at the last POW/ MIA celebration/swap meet .
Edit-
I also like the bronze IMO, for some reason.
Here is how they looked fresh out of the tissue paper as I awakened them from their 70 year old slumber showing how the ribbons were wrapped around them.......

Is it usual that MK has this sewn in ??
Adrian, very cool!
Johnny, I like the snaps. Mine didn't have snaps, but it had a hook and loop, like tunic collars have.
Dean.
I've never seen it on a Mutterkreuz fresh out of the packet so to speak, this would've been done by the wearer. The method of attachment would vary according to the individual wearing it. Sometimes the ribbon would be sewn, sometimes a hook and eye would be used etc.
In this case, the cross would most likely not be from the hoard but would have been stored for many years with the ribbon wrapped around it.
