The Narvik shield posted reminds me of this reproduction, which may have been a cast from an original.

I notice the Swastika is off-center on this fake as well...only touching the wreath on one side.

Hi,this one is tough to tell from these pictures,on the whole it looks OK but I don't think I would take the chance unless the dealer will supply you with better images.Mario at HISCOLL MILITARY ANTIQUES has a damaged original at 365 euros(pictured below) if that's any use to you!! Leon.

New photos have arrived! I'm not sure about the black felt backing, I just don't know enough about Heer Narviks to know if it's been fiddled with and the backing added post war.

Well I've taken the plunge, given the plastic another hiding and should have this baby in hand in due course. The seller has a 14 day inspection policy which is a good comfort also so expect better photos in 7-10 days!
