Well the shield has arrived and I have to say that with a close in-hand inspection I think I did OK!
The patination is just beautiful and this piece will now join my Demjansk, Kuban and Krim shields in my campaign shield display. I think a Cholm will be always 'a bridge too far' so here endeth the shield collecting...

Actually...looking at the display, I'd have to disagree and say that there's room for TWO gold Nahkampfsanges....the Normal issued kind would look nice Below the Demjansk shield...and the Presentation fire-gilded gold Nahkampfspange with the little hook on the back would look Superb Above the Demjansk shield...Nope, there's still room in there for a gold Nahkampfspange.............
