I sure hope so Adrian! The photography sure wasn't the best as far as the reverse goes...

Well the shield has arrived and I have to say that with a close in-hand inspection I think I did OK!

The patination is just beautiful and this piece will now join my Demjansk, Kuban and Krim shields in my campaign shield display. I think a Cholm will be always 'a bridge too far' so here endeth the shield collecting...

So you think a Stalingrad shield or a Warsaw shield will somehow devalue your collection Glenn?

Seriously though, I'm pleased you got such a nice looking piece, the patina completely enhances the look, good score!

Hey, none of those worn crappy zincy things with no finish either. It has to be mint, pristine and shiny or your collection will be worthless.

Actually...looking at the display, I'd have to disagree and say that there's room for TWO gold Nahkampfsanges....the Normal issued kind would look nice Below the Demjansk shield...and the Presentation fire-gilded gold Nahkampfspange with the little hook on the back would look Superb Above the Demjansk shield...
