The text on the reverse side of the silver / grey one translates as:

    "78
    FOR
    FIVE YEARS OF
    VOLUNTEER
    WORK

    The Korpsführer
[lit. "Corps Leader"] of the NS-Fliegerkorps

    [facsimile signature of Friedrich Christiansen]

    GENERAL DER FLIEGER"

So this would be presented as a sign of acknowledgment for unpaid work for the NSFK.

John R. Angolia shows one of these (serial numbered "711") in his work on the Uniforms, Organization and history of the NSKK/NSFK, but that example has the signature and rank of Generaloberst Keller, Christiansen's successor as Korpsführer.

The text on the reverse side of the bronze one means:

    "IN STEP
    WITH OUR FÜHRER
    WE FLY FOR OUR
    ETERNAL GERMANY

    [facsimile signature of Friedrich Christiansen]"

The lower part of the text on its obverse side means

    "COASTAL FLIGHT 1938"

This was an award for participation in the 1938 flight around the coast. Angolia's book also shows one of these as well as an equivalent example for the Deutschlandflug 1938.

Sorry; I cannot comment on originality or value of either one.

Sorry; I wouldn't know how (or even if) this could be researched.
