Hi Robert, 'B' usually means a replacement badge but I have not seen one circled before

I learnt something there! Which badges would this apply to Nick? Would it be applicable to the badge above?

Certain RZM badges have the 'B' mark indicating a replacement, I come across many in the Hitler Youth world particularly on Achievement badges. I dont recognise the badge at the top of the thread and like I say I have never seen a circled 'B'

    Hi Robert,

This is an reproduction NSDAP sympathy pin, the original of which was issued and popular among the underground Nazi party movement in Austria between 1934-1938. Austria was annexed to Germany in 1938 and before that the underground Nazi party was forbidden. Members of the Austrian Nazi party carried this clasp. Essentially, a duplicate of the standard NSDAP badge, differing only in the use of stylized old German script and the specific reference to the support of Hitler by Austria.

According to some advanced collectors, less than 2,000 of these badges were produced. As such, the original badge rates as 'rare'.

The reverse of the badge is marked 'Ges. Gesch.', accompanied by the maker's mark, a stylized 'B' within a circle, purportedly relating to an Austrian firm.

This badge is highly faked, as i believe this one to be, (the circled 'B' is in a different position on originals than your example) and the securing pin is slightly different.

    Regards, Ned.

Thanks for the info Guys, I know little about these badges and had no idea there was a letter denoting a replacement.
When I get home I'll try and gather as many useful reference links together as I can and put a pinned thread at the top of the forum for them. I'll add as and when new ones appear.
