I moved this to the Orders and Decorations forum where you are more likely to obtain good responses. This is a very rare badge of which I can not comment.
BOB
LIFE'S LOSERS NEVER LEARN FROM THE ERROR OF THEIR WAYS.
Thanks Bob.
I know very little about this badge in particular but the quality is not that of any TR badge I have seen most badges have a 3-D appearance to them this one seems to be completely flat, and lacks serious detail in my opinion this is a reproduction
Thanks for information.

I'm with Bob Coleman haven't handled a real one so I don't know enough to comment it is a extremely rare badge and I have never handled or seen a real one in 50 years of collecting I don't know who or how many firms made them or just one manf of it. The one I did see was well done with all the highlights you would expect to see and it turned out to be a repo so good luck on it timothy
I've tried researching this badge and can say I have not found one like it. These are rare badges and every other one I saw had a different hinge and catch and they all had round wire pins. None had this wide flat pin.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
The badge posted is NOT authentic. No TR badge has ever sported a reverse hardware setup such as this.
William Kramer
An example,of what i presume is original from the book "Political & Civil Awards of the Third Reich".
Totally different hinge set up.needle pin and the reverse is numbered.
Regards,Martin.
