"Much that once was, is lost. For none now live who remember it."
Thank you all.
it is a little disappointing as I was not be able to see this ,that they where so bad as I am new with Medals/Badges.
If they are so bad why is it that they have put matching numbers on those.
(Is the maker recognized??? by those numbers.)
As I have many more all kind of German Nazi Medals but afraid to asking for opinions as I Appreciate the answers I am getting from what it can be.
The reverses of genuine badges do not look anything like
the ones you've shown. Some caution is recommended,
as these Luft badges, if real, would be worth about
$600-$800, perhaps more, and I would bet that
the ones above are selling for much less.
It might be a better idea to get yourself familiar with this
material by buying some books first, and by looking
at genuine examples on the net - there are many
places to search.
Please post the other stuff you already have and let
members have a look. If there are bad pieces,
you can weed them out.........
Regards,
Steve.
That is what I plan to do.
Thanks.
Hi dorker,
Interesting that these fakes have consecutive numbers 24 and 25. They appear to have been made by the same person who made the fake Souval U-Boat you just posted. Perhaps the "252" in that U-Boat indicates the number of fakes of this type produced -- he seems to have numbered them like a "limited edition"!
Best regards,
---Norm
I found some others also numbered and I assume by the same maker and list them soon for a opinion.
Thanks
Peter.
Hi,i can really add no more, these are both very poor fakes, the reverse "rivets" are not even rivets(just bent over metal!!),the swastika on one award has not even got the full lenth to one of it's arms and the numbering is fantasy(incorrect style)When you have studied the manufacturing details of original badges, you will wonder how on earth you fell for these ones!As has already been suggested,if you are new to collecting "ANY" Third Reich items,do your research first, and if at all possible, post any items you are interesred in on here before you buy.The many experienced collectors here will be only to happy to help. Good hunting, Leon.
