Are these medals being faked? I thought that since they are so cheap fakers wouldn't have any interest in them.

I have only seen one fake before. It was filled with holes and looked like something someone cast in their garage. Of course companies that make reproduction medals for reenactors and museums make these, but they too aren't much good (the best one is here: Kelleys Military Russian Front Medal)

Ost's have always been faked to some degree. But as these wonderful designed medals become more popular due partly to the fact there are some interesting & diverse makers being uncovered. Fakers are becoming aware of that fact. Stewy
Thanks for the replies guys. I guess reenacting is also a major factor that everything is being reproduced. Even the cheap stuff.
