    Had this one for many years, whats the general consensus?.I am only now finding out about it thanks to you well informed collectors.I don't collect anymore,but am still fascinated.

    You have a really nice medal. I like the "bubbling" affect, and your is two toned. I have one that is simply flat grey.
    I always loved these pieces! They were designed by a German soldier. If memory serves me the ribbon states.
    The black line is for the column of German soldiers, the white represents the snow, and the red represents the dead
    Russian soldiers. I especially love the Weimar Eagle with the detailed scalloped feathers. This medal is simply a work
    of art! Who doesn't love a potato mashed resting under a helmet?

    very nice medals and yes zinc very easy corrodes thats why you find so many of theese in bad shape

    You have an original zinc medal HC no worries with this one.

    I thought the ribbon colours represented red for blood, white for snow, black for the dead.

    Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
