    Hi guys,

I just purchased this Ostmedaille. Does it look fake or original to you guys? I'm worried because it looks to be in way too good of a condition compared to most pictures that I've seen, especially on Google Images where most of them are darkened.

Also, should I be worried that it didn't come with the paper bag?

    Marker mark says 61.

Thanks a lot guys! Looking forward to take part in this forum.

Thank you very much for your reply.

I have made a simple comparison with the picture that is available on the Wikipedia page, and I've found some differences. Namely, the one I've bought seems to be less defined. Details seem less sharp. Is it merely one maker vs another?

Then what could explain the differences? The text seems spot on and all, but how come are the leafs and the feathers not exactly the same?

Indeed, seems to be a matter of maker. I just found a picture of another one by the same maker, and feathers and leaves are exactly the same :

Thank you all for your replies. Very much appreciated!

That said, what a gorgeous medal. I guess I just love the combination of the most poignant nazi symbols (in my opinion), that is, the swastika, the eagle and the Stahlhelm.

Reich, May I suggest that in the future ask fellow members "Before" purchasing items if time allows..
What if the "Osten" was a fake ?? Would you have recourse ??
Just my two cents... Welcome to the forum and I look forward to many new posts from you !! G

Indeed, I should have asked first. I guess I didn't want someone to buy it before me as I thought it was in excellent condition for a reasonable price.

Thanks for the input and for the warm welcome as well! Loving this forum already.
