So I bought the medal above and he had another I was interested in. They are currently on the way, but here are the pics of the second medal I bought for the same price.
It's a Bronze with swords. Opinions most welcome, thank you.
Tom
No problems with the second one either Tom......
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

How long's a piece of string Gunny? Which medals? Which badges? There are so many fakes of all different standards and quality it's an impossible question to answer as there are so many..........

If not horribly wrong, slight variations in detail and different material.

Post war=Fake, (57'ers not included.)
If medals are not made from materials that are accepted as war time, then they are most likely post war productions and most of these are made to deceive.
Ralph.
P.S. Nice pair by the way Tom!
Ralph i should have been more precise in what i said, what are the differences between the wartime medals and the 57 ers ? Cheers.

Officially sanctioned post war medals made for veterans to wear, would follow the same criteria as war time minus the swastika. In the case of the Ostvolkmedaille, I am not sure that they would be made post war, or any different.
Ralph.
