Another older purchase that just rolled in I’ve been needing an upgraded Ostmedaille so I purchased this one. It’s in its pouch and the Medal is very nice condition, all the silver on the front is there the back side has the silver there but it’s a little harder to see. The ribbon is rough but I overlooked it because of the maker. This one came with another medal which I’ll post up separate.

Edit, Sorry about the lighting it’s not the best as it was a rainy day. I may try and get some better images tomorrow in the sun.

    Cheers and Happy Collecting,
    Bodhi

    Hello,

Well, I got some bad news and some good news.

These Meybauer pouches are very hard to find and missing in most collections, they are also reproduced allot recentl in very good quiality. Most would never spot the difference.
But your is an original for sure, so congrats and that. You can compare here:

    MAKERS & POUCHES — The Ostmedaille-database

But the "bad" news is that the medaille is not an OM7, its in fact an OM26 by BH Mayer.

    You can compare that here:

Thank you very much! I really thought I had my research done on this guy too. Oh well I’ve got a long way to go and a lot to learn. I’ll keep my eye out for a Paul Meybauer medal although I’ve got some saving to do and they aren’t the most common from what I know.

    Thanks for the help,
    Bodhi

Yea well, you got an killer pouch that most Ostmedaille collectors dont have and the OM26 is not that common either. Could be worse =)
