Some guy was trying to pass off some old British lids that had obviously seen the wrong side of water and dirt as desert rats helmets, they were all painted desert sand colour over some severe pitting, plus had new looking chin straps and reasonable liners, he was charging £80, he didnt like me telling him they were rusted relics that had been restored and he had a packed tent at the time, the funny thing was that the paint actually smelt new, so he must have done them a few days before, but apart from that there was rust pitting inside and out and fresh paint over the rust!!!!
