shame you could not get all of it.
To right Harry, it had been well and truly "carved up" by the time I got a look in. The seller(who is not a militaria dealer) paid £2000 for the grouping. Sounds a lot of money but there was a hell of a lot of stuff there. He tried to sell it as he found it but no one had that kind of cash spare(including his "mark up" for profit), so it was split. Had I have known in advance I would have secured some more pieces, but there we go! Leon.
Isn't that number too high for a silver? (vague recollection of a thread on numbers issued on the WA forum)
Pete
Hi Pete, I do not know about that list mate, all I will say is that this was a part of over 100 items(awards ,SA shooting plaques, pre-war Political awards and extensive paperwork) that all belonged to a Panzer officer. The grouping that has now been sadly broken up was straight from the family and had never been through a dealer before. I would have thought that as the silver grade could take up to five years to qualify for, the numbers could be higher rather than lower? This one is defiantly an authentic period silver grade(if a little worn) so if the list stops below this number for silver grades it will need revising. Leon.
