It is a fake Glenn.
First of all the makers mark. It should read BSW, the fact the maker of this badge got that wrong speaks volumes. Secondly, BSW didn't make Kriegsmarine badges. Thirdly, the rough finish on the back points towards it being a poor cast. Lastly, this hinge, pin and catch setup is never seen on Schnellboot kriegsabzeichen. They should all have a horizontal configuration, the only exception being a possible S&L badge which had a vertical pin but these are extremely rare and not absolutely confirmed as wartime produced.

Yes, I agree with the esteemed gentlemen above. It is not a good award. Well done for checking though, always best to use the forum for help...we are all learning every day on here. Hopefully, you didn't buy this item and you will be careful dealing with the seller.
