There are maker marked Schutzwall medals, but they
are not too common - I've only seen two or three.
Not sure if these particular cases are modern
or not ( but would like one ! )

I read somewhere that the first few awards of
this medal to VIP's were solid gold.........

in fact, Rommel entrusts the term of Sigfrifo , I vreo give these medals to generals and officers important

The funny thing is, that after years of horrendous labor and construction-not to mention the materials alone and the thousands of troops to Man it...the much vaunted "West Wall" ended up being, for all sakes and purposes, pretty much worthless....Not exactly a showpiece for the engineering of the TR....
But...! That Is a Very nice cased badge! I like it!
