Re: Luftwaffe Glider Pilot Badge. Real or Repro ?
It's a fake unfortunately, the Minesweeper is too. You won't find that reverse set up, hinge/pin/catch on any wartime made piece.

What do you mean?
I checked a lot of similar (real) Items with the same system....
Please explain your theory

Re: Luftwaffe Glider Pilot Badge. Real or Repro ?
The Glider badge is an obvious cast fake...the detail doesn't come close to an original and the broad needle used is commonly seen on Ebay fakes
On the other hand, original Minesweeper badges don't have such a narrow needle as the one depicted...I must agree with Adrian.

Adrian is correct. Note the semi broad pin: these are found on 1957 pattern awards not wartime badges.
Cheers, Ade.

Re: Luftwaffe Glider Pilot Badge. Real or Repro ?
Thx guys for the info!
I already tought it was too good to be true!
Wasn't really sure cause I bought it in Germany in a little antique shop.
Did not spend more then €60 for the lot.
So they will have a space in the collection anyway.

That's the positive way of handling it; Simply consider it a learning experience...we've ALL had them, I assure you...

Can you show any examples of these genuine badges with this same pin system?
The only Minesweeper badge with a horizontal pin such as above was made by Deumer. Try a search on the forum and you can see the differences very easily. I have posted a couple of my examples in the past.
