Had good advice? Saved money? Why not become a Gold Club Member, just hit the green "Join WRF Club" tab at the top of the page and help support the forum!
That's true, it could be. I've just had a quick look but haven't found one quite as poor in quality.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
Cheers Ade i just think its good that i can have it for free Also what do you guys think about the stickpins?
Thanks, Glen.
Cannot see the back of the Assmann badge clearly, sorry.
Tom
OK here is a clearer pic of the reverse of the stickpin, so what do you guys think of the two of them?
Thanks, Glen.
Looks like it could be a good one after all. I still don't know what the "V" one is.
I usually look for a twist in the stickpin, but after looking at my small collection again, all of them have twists except my pin like yours, made by S&L.
Tom
Thanks Tom i can't seem to find any pic or information about the V stickpin anywhere,
Thanks. Glen,
The eagle/sword/V pin is from the Volksbund der Deutschen in Ungarn (V.D.U.), i.e. the Ethnic Union of Germans in Hungary.
According to David Littlejohn's Foreign Legions of the Third Reich (Vol. 3) it was adopted during the war years (ca. 1943), the "V" standing vor "Victoria" (the embodiment of and symbol for victory)
I cannot comment on originality.
Thanks, HPL2008! Have you seen these faked before? Also thanks again for that information!
Thanks, Glen.
