Very interesting to hear. From all Ive read it was a horrible tragedy with terrible suffering.
Sadly, the deportations of (amongst others) cossacks to the USSR after hostilities had ceased, is a very sensitive subject and the feelings run high.
Every time, its discussed here, it ends in tears and/or the gnashing of teeth, so its sadly not someting which can be properly debated here.
Suffice it to say, that it was a tragedy beyond belief.
