Perhaps it is the stark lighting, but it appears to be a worn bronze.........

    Hi Steve!
I have compared it with my bronze example and the quality of the pin and catch indicate that it is probably a silver or gold. From the polished finish on the catch, I would guess that it is a good silver, but, I know very little about these.

it is silver bronze - but i think it is more of a silver
also, it appears to be a Polish made fake.

When comparing the text on the reverse, I could believe that. There are a few major differences, but as I said, I know very little about these. This is also why I did not post my opinion earlier. I also notice pitting on the sword blade on the obverse.

    Hello Meyle
The badge that Ralph shows is what you would expect from a Redo badge. Your badge has a block hinge & the catch does not look correct.
There are a few different fonts for the reverse writing on Redo badges. The writing on the one you have does not really match any of them
& looks sloppy. I would say that your gut-feeling is correct & that the item is fake.

    Regards
    Brett
