Some Poor Collector got burned with this Ostvolk
Ebay item number: 111082248851
Buyers beware:
Some poor collector got caught with this modern Birmingham reproduction of an ostvolk order.
Both the medal and the box are modern day reproductions.
The medal without swords is a little harder to distinguish from an original unless you have one to compare but the medals this seller has with swords always has a missing amount of detail on one the sword hilts.
The seller has at least 3 user names!!!
All the best

Re: Some Poor Collector got burned with this Ostvolk
I noticed this seller was selling some TR items. But when I looked at the other item he had previously sold I spotted some repos which of course put me right off anything else he was selling.
He has sold another few TR items tonight which he got some good money for.
Do you happen to know his other user names.

Hello Rod,
here are a couple of the seller's other names : lucansloft18 and shellcat4
The seller replies as a woman! but you would never know who you are dealing with.
Note the disclaimer on all the auctions...you get what you see!
The relative who 'originally' owned it must have had a shed full of reproductions!
The Ostvolk have only just started to come to the surface recently,
Another seller: nregseat had some similar examples for sale.
Of all the 10 variants of Ostvolk medals: 1st Class Gold and Silver with and without swords plus the 2nd class bronze silver and gold with and without swords were only ever produced in zinc
Anyone collecting these should note that the two accepted makers are:
100 Wachter and Lange and A N Other unknown maker.
The reverse can come in three genuine variations. Flat back, semi dished and a full circular disc.
Hope this helps
All the best
The box above shows the Birmingham design of a thick representation of the award on the lid...originals are quite fine rather than the heavy thick representation and from my own experience are a dark green in colour

I hope eBay Bans this one/group of people.

Re: Some Poor Collector got burned with this Ostvolk
All items are non-returnable as they just want them disposed off....Perhaps disposing some of these items in a bin would be their best bet.

Poor person that bought this for 162 GBP...
This is one of the reasons why I am very careful buying ww2 items off ebay.
