Actually, looking at Ned's example above i'd wager the ribbon is in fact 35mm wide as it appears to be around the same width as the diameter of the medal itself which is 35mm. Is this in your collection Ned?

From what I've always figured, it's what they used to think was a Deschler made piece, but of late, that opinion has been changing and now the talk is that they were make by Schickle. Now they seem to be designating them "Type 1" or "Type 2" etc. Give it a few months and they'll be changing their minds again, I suppose! All I know is it's a Vet bring back piece and textbook original...Medical bills do call, however, so I've decided to sell a few small bits and bobs just to keep the co-pays paid...lol
