Hello, for me this badge looks allright, am I right with my opinion? But I wonder why the Friedrich Orth manofacturer labiling is quite soft?
Thanks in advance and best regards.

There are in my book 3 variations made by FO. Your hardware (hinge) does not compare to the FO in my book. They show a sheet metal hinge made of tombak soldered on all 3 variations. Yours is not showing that
Thanks for the info. Yes its different to the others FO badges in the web, not convincing.
I concur with David, in addition to the rear hardware being wrong, I am not a fan of many details on the obverse (which I also find highly lacking in detail). While I don't have the knowledge of others on KM awards I like as a first step (after hardware) to look at the reverse silhouette as an easy way to compare to originals. With items that were heavily hand finished this is not always foolproof but it is a good tool.

I have to agree with the above comments.
There are many things wrong with this badge that do not match to known originals.
The reverse hardware is of major concern.I do not recall seeing an original FO with a circular catchplate for one.The "?" roundwire catch soldered into a recess is what I would look for on an original.
The details are weak and the basemetal does not appear to be zinc.
These FO awards have been faked often and I have to think that is another one of them.
Cheers,Martin.
Thanks all for your help and greetings from Berlin,
Patrick
Trust you instincts...you were right to question it.
