Throwing my, very, sarcastic comment in on this, especially as I couldnt identify real from fake when it comes to WW2 3rd Reich badges etc. and going on what has previously been said, I would have thought that the "M" number in this case was a manufacturers date ie: M 9/60 = Made in September 1960!!!

Ade, whats with Poland? Is there a manufacture there that puts out a lot of this fake stuff?
I'm just curios where this stuff comes from.
    Thanks

M9/60 is infact the manufacturer Paulmann & Crone, Lüdenscheid

    M9 were making the tinnies.

The fakes come from all over, because there is a lot of money involved in fooling the un initiated Quite a lot of gear comes from the former Eastern block countries Romania made a lot of fake watches which are still being sold as originals, but infact they are total fantasy pieces

Hi Mike, Polish made fakes tend to have screwback fittings. Many original Polish badges are screwbacked, where as very few German awards are found with this type of fitment.

    Cheers, Ade.
