Re: Unknown German Medals !!!
The medal on the wallet is a War merit cross with swords first class which isn't very rare i'm afraid they were issued in quite large numbers.

Saw these medals on the internet and there it said that the medal with the swords was quite rare. Didn't know that there were more versions of it
Hope it helped anyway

Re: Unknown German Medals !!!
EK2's a fake IMO. The KVK (War merit med) may be ok but better pics of front & reverse are needed really. Stewy S

Re: Unknown German Medals !!!
the iron cross is a 2nd class original the ring has broken off.

Re: Unknown German Medals !!!
Hi Ned,sorry mate. I'll try & explain. First you're right an EK2's an Iron cross 2nd class awarded for a single act of bravery. The "coil" that seperates the black iron core from the outside frame looks to not have much detail, the frame seems uneven/lopsided & there's pitting on the core itself. Sorry i can't help with the writing in the wallet. Stewy S

Re: Unknown German Medals !!!
on the black cross (iron cross 2nd class), things to start looking for are, is the center a seperate piece from the frame ? and look for a file line (seam) around the outer edge of the crosses frame. the cross should be made of 3 pieces. core, and two frame halfs. that's a starting point.

lol stewy beat me to it.
