Judging from comments in a different forum, I would not have thought this amount od deduction was possible.
Post the link so I can have a look. I'm a member of most of the well known forums.

Never quite understood why thess crosses are underrated. As I said in my thread of the MK, to me it's one of the most beautiful crosses of the the TR. It displays very nicely on any collection. Appart from the "design" (that is simple but very nice) we must add the fact that it was a civilian award, given to women. Also one must not forget what, in National Socialist philosophy, represented to have this medal (and the "conditions" one needed to have - and maintain - in order to receive it).

This thread has a very good translation by HPL2008 of the regulations pertaining to the award of the Mutterkreuz:

Ah okay I have read this thread and remember sending a PM to eddy but got no response.
It would be a way forward for us all if there was collaboration between collectors and there was a dedicated database to add pictures of crosses to.
As I imagine any conclusions that other collectors come to is not readily available.

All I can do in a personal basis is post any information or conclusions that I have in an attempt to help other collectors (and me)

Frankly, I'm more impressed by the seemingly impossible feat of Vaulting a Mother's Cross without putting so much as a micro crack in the enamel. The owner had talent! That, or it may well be as suggested, that it could Possibly have somehow been vaulted Before enameling?

I would be happy to contribute in any way, of course. But, I only have two cased crosses. The others are loose and unattributed.

Saladin, here's another one I found today. It has the thick white border with the addition of blunt rays. The ribbon looks right, according to your insight on the number of threads.

What do you see wrong or right (based on your knowledge of the German ad you posted)?

I would love to find more original documentation on these...I am hooked, but I am also still stand-offish. It seems speculative and based on a best guess to me right now. Even in this post, I am relying on your thoughts and very little period evidence. I have enjoyed what you've posted. Don't get me wrong. I have been burned in the short time I have been collecting and want to avoid that in the future.

My thoughts based on your pictures are it is not a Rettenmaier cross but without seeing any clearer pictures your thoughts are as good as mine.

From these photos, I do not like this cross.

    Default Bronze Cross Complete Set?

    Hello All,
I'm still accumulating crosses to help my research.
I had to stop buying unattributed crosses I was just getting too many....even the better half was noticing the full boxes of enamelled crosses!
So I have decided that no matter how cheap a cross is I will stick to the ones that at least have a box or envelope.
I know that even when coming in one or the other there is a chance that they could have been subject to a post war pairing.

AnywayI saw this grouping and just had to have it...Almost a complete set.
The award certificate, cross with neatly sewn ribbon for wear, the invitation to attend the award ceremony and the envelope.
This is the first set of this kind that I have seen for sale!
Envelope is marked up for Schaurerte & Hohfeld

Has anyone got a collection of the blue identity certificates that authorised the cross for wear? To say so many crosses were issued there are very few of these id cards up for sale.
    Any photos would be appreciated.
