1 - the medal in bronze of the order of the German Eagle was authorized to manufacture after the new regulation of 1943. At that time, the medals were manufactured with DEUTSCHE VERDIENSTMEDAILLE legend in Latin characters and not Gothic characters like the silver medal from 1937-1939 version. NOT be made never the medal version bronze with legend in Gothic characters.

Wow thanks for posting this. As a guy new to the hobby this is invaluable information. I wasn't looking at buying that particular medal but had plans of getting one in the future. I'm going to really have to be careful as the differences between that fake and the original are so subtle.
