Re: What do you think? is it Original Kreuz?
Mutterkreuzen are quite common awards, so they are worth much really. The prices vary depending whereabouts you are in the world, as they will tend to go for more money in the Americas than they do in Europe. The example shown are both reproductions though, as already stated above. The original awards are one of the most beautifully produced medals from the Third Reich period, with fine detail and not the soft finishing shown above.

Re: What do you think? is it Original Kreuz?
first thing that that i noticed was the "leaked" blue enamel from the left cross arm to the below one, surrounding the center.
a beautiful give away for a fake......

Re: What do you think? is it Original Kreuz?
Sorry, Zsilie...they are both fakes. The gold cross is much too soft and obviously cast, and the reverse inscription on the Bronze is very bad. Neither award, as said earlier, is worth a great deal-even when found with the original boxes and issue documents. They are quite common and easy to find in originals and will generally be quite reasonable in price.

Hello all,
The original cross that started the thread is a poor reproduction.
