Nice purchase Simon! Unfortunately if there is no number on the ring it's going to be impossible to identify it to a maker.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
Nice example! Looks like some damage/distortion to the ring on the medal itself?
Its a good one! As Adrian says there are no real distinguishing marks in order to recognise makers

Very nice Ostmedaille, Simon! Thanks for showing.

Glenn, to clarify, do you mean the outer edge ring of the medal?
My favourite medal but i dont own one, i'm going to get my act together this year and get a few as they're not all that expensive
If the ring has a mark, it will be stamped into the ribbon ring. See the picture for an example. This one is marked '76' for Ernst L. Mueller, Pforzheim.
Dave, hmm, I lost another response, so sorry if this is a duplicate.
As an Eastfront afficionado, this medal has more meaning to me than most of the other more expensive and rare ones.
Next one I get will hopefully have more 'flash', maybe a buntmetal.
Roger, thanks, no mark. I like your collection.
