Winterschlachtmedaille im Osten original or fake?

I was at an antique store here in poland today and am wondering if this medal is original with ribbon. Also the dealer wanted about $65 dollars if you convert that to the current us dollar. The condition to me looked a little to good to be true but not sure

I wont give the final verdict on your medal, but it looks very sharp and new.

it looked near mint to me. whats the average price for these in this condition? am not sure but am guessing this might not be a rare medal since they made 3 million of them?

I dont think they have. A very common (but lovely) low end item. It looks fine

True, i have 2 and i think every collection needs one with eastern front being huge part of ww2.

In that case I withdraw my earlier statement, as those with more knowledge about these than I have chimed in

I thought, they had been faked as you see so many of these, but I guess, there were simply a shed load made

They have been faked like all Third Reich decorations but not (as far as I know) on a huge scale. The example in the opening post is a good one IMO.
