Just after some opinions on this Ost Medal, the more reading I do on the subject, the clearer it seems that thickness of these medals can be a deciding factor as to originality! So what do you think of this one?

Hi Joshua,
The thickness of the rim and the thickness of the rim including the ridge as well will be a start, these are a dished medal so hard to say where to measure from.

Thickness of the rim would be a little over 1mm and the thickness of the rim+ridge would be about 2mm..

If anything about this screams fake then that's fine, but if not I can get a digital micrometer tomorrow to be exact..

I can't say i'm a fan of the seam that looks to be running around the outside edge, neither of my 2 examples has this. Also it looks like the grenade/helmet is off centered when viewed from the side? I'd be leaning towards it being a cast fake I think. (Hope i'm wrong though)

Mine measures 1.59mm average on the rim and 2.60mm average including the ridge. I still don't see anything wrong with your medal Joshua and I would be happy to call it an original.
I'm not sure where the seam is, can you point it out please Glenn?
