From left to right
KvK 2 with swords (TR) ,Med zur Erinnerung (annexation of Czechoslovakia 38) (TR),and the last one Tiroler Landesdenkmunze medal with swords (Imp)
I can't work out the third but I feel it's WW1.
I looks to be a good WW1-WW2 German/Austrian vets bar to me.
Cheers Devin
Dave
The third one is the Austrian 1915-1918 Bulgarian Campaign Medal.
I have miss identified the first ribbon (blind old thing I am),it's a 1914-1918 Cross of Honor with Swords for Combatant not Kvk.Sorry about that.
Cheers
Dave
Sorry, Dave, but you're wrong about the third and fourth ribbons. They are, respectively, the Hungarian and Bulgarian commemorative medals for WW1.
From left to right:
- 1914/18 Honor Cross for Frontfighters (instituted July 1934)
Sudetenland Medal (instituted Oct. 1938)
Hungarian WW1 Commemorative Medal (instituted May 1929)
Bulgarian WW1 Commemorative Medal (instituted Dec. 1933)
It's a WW1 veteran's rbbon bar consisting of decorations instituted in the inter-war years and dating to no earlier than 1938.
This ribbonbar could have been worn and indeed most likely was worn by a German serviceman of WW2, the Sudetenland medal means he had some part to play in this as well as being a veteran of the 1914/18 conflict.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
