My favorite piece, are two pictures of my grandfather that I have much affection, the first being when he was a soldier in the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939)
And the second is when he fought on the German side during World War II in the Siege of Leningrad and was injured by a bomb Aviation and lost an ear.
Behind the photograph of the Blue Division puts the date: Berlin to January 27, 1942
This is the tape of his Iron Cross Second Class, sewed a yellow line wire to make it look to the flag of Spain.
minatures about 4" short
Had it 30 odd years and it is still my favourite award from my collection.
Cheers, Ade.
