Just ordered mine.... I'll be looking for that signed copy!
My copy arrived today as I was leaving town.... So I could only thumb through a few pages.... Looking forward to getting home Sunday to start reading it.
Mr Saris, do you know how many copies were printed? I ended up with copy number 28.
Hummel
Hummel;
I have no idea how many books mr. Bender has printed.
That's his decission. I never do ask about that and in
fact I do not care.
I just make the book with my best abilities and offer
it to him. All the other work is for Bender Publishing.
A job is done now after about five years, with great
cooperation from friends and a number of collectors
and of course with some disappointments and in
some ways "obstructions". But what the heck, the
book is released now.
I have yet not seen a printed version, due to the period
of shipping into Europe...!!
I am very pleased with the first reactions by email of those that have received the book,
especially from Robert Newbrough, Bill Shea, Thomas Wittmann and Michael Loppkit.
Great to hear their very much appreciated comment!

Hi Wim.
Just received my copy today. Book looks fantastic!
Thanks.
Luke
Got in more great comments and this was send too me also:
A fantastic U-Boat eagle, photos from collector Billy Kramer (William) who posted these photos on Facebook….
“Eagle removed from the conning tower of a very early U-Boat. This eagle (within my collection and that I personally got out of the
woodwork) has seen the depths of the Atlantic Ocean and witnessed history change forever”
Facebook shows much more about this. Have a look!!
This eagle was shown in chapter 1 (see book pages with photo above), where other than railroad eagle are shown briefly.

Here some of the comments made, in relation to the book,
which I got by mail.
I am very pleased with them!
It is an absolutely amazing book, so much great information, so well formatted, fantastic photos and incredible research. You are to be congratulated on your efforts. I am so pleased with the way you have presented all the evidence, photos and manufacturers information.
Michael Loppkit
Just like magic, two days after you wrote, this handsome book arrived! Thanks very much for acknowledging both my son Patrick and I. The book looks great. Very well laid out and great photography.
Bill Shea
The book arrived yesterday. It is wonderful!
Congratulations my friend.
Barry Childress
I received my Reichsbahn book today. I am delighted with it - a masterful work here and a great benefit to the hobby. I know this book will sell well. You have out done yourself with the research, period photos and excellent photographs of original eagles resting in collections today.
Thomas Wittmann
Today your letter and the parcel from the USA arrived. I am very much delighted by this great job, which has outdone my expectations.
It is incredible what material and photographs you were able to gather. Also the print of the book and lay-out are wonderful. A truly great job.
Thomas Samek
Very good book!

The magnificent RR Eagle books have arrived & they are truly outstanding! Congratulations to you for authoring another wonderful historically correct & scientifically accurate documented reference text! You must be very proud & happy about the way that the book turned out, I believe.
Amazing presentation. Had no idea of the depth of RR engine, cars, trucks & ephemera which you had access to & presented. In addition to the varied Eagles, this is exciting new information for RR Collectors & we general TR Collectors as well. Exciting & beautiful items.
Bender did a superb job in putting it together for publishing. Cudos to dear Roger for a job well done.
David Landers
I cannot thank you enough for everything and I am thrilled with the book. I am very excited to sit down and read it when I get a chance.
William Kramer
I got my book today: # 9/200. It is very beautiful and interesting. A great work!
Mit freundlichem Gruss,
Robert Newbrough

With only being able to thumb through it on arrival l agree with them whole heartedly. There are more then a handful of eagles that I never even knew existed. For instance, I had never seen the eagles that were on u-boats in all the years of looking at photos of u-boats. It may just be that I am partial to the subject matter but I believe this is some of your best work to date. Very well done.
Hummel
Thanks Hummel: and the u-boat eagles is in fact not the subject.
Chapter 1 gives eagles not being Reichsbahn, tells what is not dealt
with (shield for angines etc), what people do collect, samples of building
eagles or how far one can go or eagles send back to the states by vets.
Got in my personal copies of the book on Monday (April 18).
