arbeitsausweis 1944 Poland

This ausweis is similar ones issued by the Germans when they tried to fortify cities in town in wake of the advancing Russians, following their defeat in operation Bagration, if I am not wrong. Is this the case with this ausweis?

Hi Neil,

A most interesting Ausweis. It indicates that the holder was voluntarily engaged in the construction of (defensive, given the 1944 date) positions and could not be conscripted for any other type of labor. A super short-term ID - weekly renewal was required!
