Jerry: Ouch! But there is no reason to feel stupid, after all what would cause any reasonable person to question an author's "to" signature in a book? In this case the effort made to create a counterfeit dedication had little effect, and on the surface there was no reason for anyone to do that. None of us questioned it. So, in the absence of any obvious criminal motive to create the counterfeit dedication, there was no reason for anyone to question it. Despite the outcome of your investigation, I'm glad you did it because it's a lesson for all of us to heed caveat emptor. Dwight
