    Tom,
    it's perfectly acceptable to use the "ue" format in non-German speaking contexts.
    Though, I'm like you, and I prefer those crazy "Heavy Metal Dots" as well!

    Yep, both spellings are acceptable, I'm just too lazy to look up the alt code for umlaut letters. haha
