Thanks, Harry! It certainly is.

I bought a book last year, a modern account of some of the battles from WWII, but it had a couple of bonus's for me, one was an inscription to show that it had belonged to a Welsh regiment I collect and also it had some clippings about the passing of the books author, all in all some good extras for a cheap second hand book.

Whatever its just an opinion.
Jerry, that's very cool! I love how little things like that can add life to an otherwise run-of-the-mill book. I, too, have an old book with an inscription indicated that it was owned by someone in Wales. Impressive, considering I found it at a dollar sale here in CA!
All of this talk of books and the things inside them make me want a thread just for sharing the odd paper or inscriptions found in our collections. I just love seeing and hearing about them so much
you cant beat a good book and if they have extras, that only adds to their enjoyment.
Interesting extras with book on the Rhineland WWII

Absolutely! And thank you for sharing your book, too! It would make my day to find a big news clipping like that in one of mine.
Where in Wales was the $1 book owner from?
As an aside my mother in law lives in California, a nice part of the world.

The owner lived in the Penllergaer area of Swansea at some point in the early 1900s (the book is from 1900 and the handwriting suggests a similar time period). I'd post pictures of all of her scriblings, but my camera battery is dead-- Perhaps when I find the charger, I'll do so
And yes, California's a pretty nice place, if you can get past the seasonally-challenged weather and bad drivers!
Attachment 671391German books are always worthwhile.
There were 2 or 3 years for this book. I've got at least a 40 & 41. I also have all of the Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine year books. I had all of the Heer but sold them.
Books are just great - you can never have to many, whether wartime or post war.
I have probably 200+ wartime German books and at least 50+ post war books. Don't really know because I've never kept track nor have I made a complete list of what I have. That is something I should finish.

If memory serves, there was a 1942 edition of Die Wehrmacht in this arrangement. I own it somewhere.
