schnellmann you said you wanted this thread to die, and all you have done is upset members here. I have no idea why Larry was banned, but why don't i see infractions on you?
If you had accepted the thoughts of members who actually KNOW what they are talking about, then none of this would have happened

Very sad
Larry was banned because of the things he said, on several threads. Why don't you check it out? I tried to let this thread die, but you guys just won't let it. And I do NOT let people attack me without answering them. Then Dietrick Maerz joined this forum, why? You figure it out.
Gentlemen,
Can I return us to the discussion about the document please? Unfortunately, nine times out of ten when opinions are sought about the authenticity of an item and negative replies are forthcoming, the discussion degenerates into insults. Politeness and respect for ones fellow collectors'/contributors' opinions should be a given.

And the DKIS... But I am still going to have the document's age determined, among other things. None of you have actually touched this document. It is old, and I don't think it was artifically aged.
schnellmann,
The process to determine a documents age can be very expensive and in this case would not prove authenticity. It can be simple to obtain an authentic blank document and fill in the spaces. The document therefore would be of the correct age, but still a worthless forgery. A basic UV light test would give an indication of the acid content of the paper, but this is not infallible and does not advance us from our starting position of determination of authenticity.
As I stated previously, if you are set on authenticating this document, you must approach a recognized specialist Third Reich document authenticator. You must be prepared to pay a large sum of money for a laboratory condition examination and the resultant technical report. This can be in the region of approximately $500 and upwards.
In my opinion, if you did this for your DKiS document, you would be throwing good money after bad, but that of course is your prerogative. Speaking as someone who has seen a lot of DK documents over many years, your document has so many visual flaws, I believe physical examination is not necessary. Take my word for it, the Berger DKiS document I saw years ago was the real one and it did not resemble yours. I have nothing to gain by giving you this advice; I am only trying to save you some more financial outlay.
Woske.
A blank document which would satisfy all age tests....
I was wondering if there was any update on this and I notice that schnellmann appears to have deserted this forum as he has had no activity since his last post in this thread on 18 January. A pity.

real or not his way of talking to other members wasn't really kind. He was asking for opinions and he got opinions but they wouldn't fit in his view. Therefor he became quite insulting towards the other members. It somehow doesn't really bother me that he's gone.
But the question still rises: is it real or isn't XD

cheers,
Well, as I told him I'd previously seen the real one and pointed out numerous flaws with his example, plus Dietrich Maerz agreed it was not real, I think you can safely say schnellmann's is a forgery. To be honest, I think it is so obviously fake he will be wasting his money getting an "expert" to verify it.
I do not know how much he paid for it, but I sympathize with anyone who buys a piece and then is faced with it being a forgery. He is bound to be very defensive, but good manners should prevail, especially as he asked for opinions in the first place. A lesson to be learnt....be prepared to accept negative feedback as well as positive if one asks for opinions.

Gentlemen despite numerous warnings Schnellmann continued with his insulting and unpleasant posts something which we are striving to prevent here , robust debate is one thing and is to be encouraged but the type of posts he was involved in are not part of what this forum is about.
For those reasons he won't be here again. His lack of any involvement does not prevent the debate on this document continuing

Paul
